Its been a common scenario nowadays due to advent of new gadgets every day people are addicted towards it and its become a habit in our life that without gadgets we never use to do any work. Its been an enormous technological transformation happened in the past 10 years. The smartphones with lot of high end features with high speed internet connection, wifi connectivity, bluetooth, wireless charging facilities are available at a very cheaper cost was once a normal Nokia N70 costed the same in the beginning of mid 2000 AD. Windows XP was a hit in those days and the Super Mario, Road Rash, Prince of Persia was all time favorite games for children. Still the period from 1998 to 2015 is the developmental stage in terms of technology and people started to adapt it slowly in their lifestyle to make their work easier. But still children grown in that particular year equally balance themselves by making themselves involve in both indoor and outdoor activities which gives them the sufficient experiential learning from both internal and external resources.
Nowadays children specially of age group from (6 to 15) are more addicted towards smartphones, tablets and access to the internet. Its okay to utilise it as the technological convergence allows you to sync all your gadgets right from your laptop, smartphone, smartwatch and smart TV. Very soon Google is going to provide us with its AI features which will identify your routines and performs all your task based on your apt needs. Its a boon as well as bane for us. A child of age group of age 6 to 10 gets addicted to youtube videos, cartoons and games and on an average they spend around 6 to 8 hours which becomes unnoticed. Its slowly killing their physical activities, creative skills, psychomotor skills which ultimately leads them to settle to things to do all their work with help of gadgets. An average adult spends more time on sneaking to smartphones whenever is required making their mind unstable or divert their focus when they are at work or anything. Nowadays there is a new diseases been invented knows as "Phantom vibration syndrome". It is a disease which causes teens to believe that they have felt or heard the phone call vibration when in actual no phone calls would have received. Similarly "Textophrenia" is another disease which causes teens to believe that they have felt or heard a new text message vibration when there are no new messages. These addict may cause tragic developments in terms of physical and mental health.
A simple way of avoiding or keeping ourself away from gadgets happens only through our intention. We must aim with a positive approach that we will use the smartphones, tablets, computers or laptops to limited hours when it is required. As parents they must not harm they children by giving them the smartphones to make their own child stop crying as its been a scenario which I observed in a pediatric ward in a hospital where the parents themselves play youtube videos or games and handover the smartphones to the little tiny tots to make them bring under control. We can stop crying temporarily by doing this but the permanent crying which a child suffers at the latter stage will be more crucial which cannot be avoided.
As everyone knows that "Life is all about balance". Let's take an action today to use the gadgets in a balanced way in our life.
